Dylan Louie Getz already had a record of making terroristic threats and simple assaults when he broke into a home on East Locup Lane, Lititz on July 31, 2023, according to area police.
The homeowners had been away, but when they returned they discovered "While inside the home, [Getz] clogged a sink in an upstairs bathroom and turned the water on causing the water to overflow the sink and leak through the floor," as stated in the release. "Additionally, someone placed an outdoor garden hose into the home through a window on the ground level, turning on the hose [and] allowing water to flow into the interior of the home."
On Aug. 4, Getz "physically attacked" a woman in Lititz by "pushing, grabbing and holding the victim from behind," police said in a separate release.
Around 9:24 p.m. were called to the reported assault at a home in the 300 Block of South Broad Street, Lititz, but Getz was not at the scene. The woman's injuries were considered non-life threatening.
A warrant was issued for the flood and the assault and he has been charged with felony criminal mischief and felony burglary; Simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and harassment, respectively, police explained, and court records confirmed.
He was released over the weekend on $5,000 and a preliminary hearing has been set for Sept. 21 for the flooding incident and Sept. 11 for the assault, court records show.
